A Career Guidance Program was organized for the 3rd Year BASLP students and interns with the aim of providing them with information and guidance regarding career opportunities, higher education, and professional development. The session was conducted by Ms. Priya Shetty from Planet Education, along with her colleague.

The session began with an introduction to the resource persons and an overview of the purpose of the programme. The resource persons provided guidance on various opportunities available to students after completing their BASLP programme, with particular emphasis on higher education and career opportunities abroad.

The following topics were covered during the session:

  • Opportunities for higher education abroad
  • Challenges and considerations involved in pursuing education overseas
  • Application procedures and eligibility requirements
  • English language proficiency examinations and their requirements
  • Criteria for selecting universities and programmes
  • Financial planning and available funding options
  • Scholarships and government support
  • Importance of profile building for higher education applications
  • Preparation of Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
  • Visa application procedures and common reasons for visa refusal
  • Career planning and making informed decisions regarding higher education and professional opportunities

The session also provided students and interns with an opportunity to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the steps involved in planning their future academic and professional careers.

The programme provided the students and interns with valuable information regarding higher education opportunities, particularly abroad, application procedures, financial planning, scholarships, English proficiency requirements, profile building, and visa processes. The session helped participants gain greater awareness of the various pathways available after BASLP and encouraged them to plan their academic and professional careers more systematically.

The Career Guidance Program was successfully conducted with the participation of 27 third-year BASLP students and 12 interns. The interaction with the resource persons provided useful insights into higher education and career opportunities and helped the participants understand the requirements and processes involved in pursuing their future goals.
