The Department of Speech and Hearing organized a programme on “Ethics in Professional Life” on 18th August 2026 (Tuesday) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Seminar Hall, Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing. The programme was conducted for the 1st-year B. ASLP, 1st year M.Sc. Audiology, and 1st M.Sc. Speech Language Pathology students of the Academic Year 2026–27.
The programme was co-organised by the organising committee: Ms. Melicia Shainy Dsouza SLP, Ms. Keerthana Audiologist; and Mr. Annan, AV Committee.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Shainy, who welcomed the Resource Person, faculty members, and students and highlighted the importance of understanding ethics in academic and professional life.
Mrs. Jyothi Crystal Pinto (B.A.L, LLB, MBA-HR), HR Manager, FMCI, served as the Resource Person for the programme. She addressed the students on professional ethics, their importance, and the consequences of unethical behaviour. The session included interactive group activities and discussions on the prospectus, institutional guidelines, classroom ethics, etiquette, behaviour, discipline, and campus conduct and safety. The students were encouraged to uphold responsibility, respect, accountability, and professionalism in their academic and professional lives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Keerthana, who expressed gratitude to the Resource Person, Principal, and students for their valuable participation and support in making the programme successful.
As a token of appreciation, Ms. Cynthia Santhmayor, Principal, Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing, presented Mrs. Jyothi Crystal Pinto with a certificate of appreciation for her valuable contribution to the programme.
