Library Orientation, E-Resources and Remote Access Programme

A Library Orientation, E-Resources and Remote Access Programme was organized on 21st August 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Audio Visual Hall, Knowledge Centre. The programme was conducted for the first-year students of B.ASLP, M.Sc. Audiology, and M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology, with Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo, Chief Librarian, FMCI, as the resource person.

The programme began with a welcome address by Ms. Hadline, Audiologist Grade–1, who warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person, Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo.

A total of 38 students attended the programme. Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo then conducted an informative orientation session on the various resources and facilities available in the library. She provided an overview of the library infrastructure and familiarized the students with the different sections in the library.

 The resource person also explained the various library resources and e-resources available to students and guided them on how to access these resources, including through remote access facilities. In addition, she explained the rules and regulations of the library and other important aspects of utilizing the library effectively for academic purposes.

Following the session, a feedback form was distributed to the students to collect their feedback regarding the programme.

As a token of appreciation, Dr. Prashasti, Head of the Department of Audiology, presented an appreciation certificate to Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Stalin, Audiologist Grade–1. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Hadline, Audiologist Grade–1, and Mr. Stalin, Audiologist Grade–1 (Speech and Hearing Department).

The Library Orientation, E-Resources and Remote Access Programme provided students with useful guidance on the library facilities, academic resources, subscribed e-resources and remote access services. The session encouraged students to make effective use of the library and its digital resources for their academic learning and professional development.
