The Inauguration of the Student Council for the Academic Year 2026–2027 of Father Muller College (Speech and Hearing) was held on 6 August 2026 at 3:30 p.m. at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Knowledge Centre, Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), Mangaluru.
The programme was graced by Dr Manjaiah D. H., Professor & Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of PG Studies and Research in Computer Science, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri, as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI. The distinguished presence of Rev. Dr Michael L. Santhumayor, Administrator, FMMC, AHS & FMCOP; Rev. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator, FMMCH; Prof. Cynthia Santhmayor, Principal, FMC; faculty members and students added significance to the occasion.
The programme commenced with a Prayer Song, invoking the blessings of the Almighty and seeking divine guidance for the newly appointed Student Council and the academic year ahead.
This was followed by the Welcome Speech by Mrs Susmitha C G, Associate Professor - Audiology, extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members and students gathered for the auspicious occasion.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration of the Student Council. The lighting of the lamp symbolized the dispelling of darkness and the illumination of knowledge, leadership, responsibility and service.
The newly elected Student Council Members were then formally presented before the gathering. The presentation acknowledged their commitment and entrusted them with the responsibility of representing the student community and contributing positively to the growth and development of the institution.
The highlight of the ceremony was the Oath-Taking Ceremony which was administered by Principal Prof. Cynthia Santhmayor. The Student Council members solemnly pledged to discharge their duties with sincerity, integrity, discipline and dedication. They committed themselves to upholding the values and traditions of Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing while working for the welfare and unity of the student community.
The Institutional Anthem was sung thereafter, instilling a sense of pride, belongingness and unity among all present.
Magazine of Father Muller College (Speech and Hearing) “Muller Wave” for the year 2024-25 was released by the Chief Guest and the President.
The Chief Guest, Dr Manjaiah D. H., delivered the Inaugural Address. He encouraged the newly appointed student leaders to recognize leadership as a responsibility rather than merely a position. He emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, communication, empathy, accountability and commitment in becoming effective leaders. His inspiring words motivated the Student Council members to make meaningful contributions to the institution and to lead by example.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI. He congratulated the newly inducted Student Council members and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, humility and a spirit of service. He highlighted the importance of student leadership in fostering a positive campus environment and encouraged the council to work collaboratively with the faculty and student community.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, management, Principal, faculty members, staff and students for their valuable presence and support in making the inauguration a memorable occasion.
The programme came to a dignified close with the National Anthem, reaffirming the spirit of unity, patriotism and collective responsibility.
The Student Council Inauguration 2026–2027 was a meaningful and inspiring occasion that formally entrusted the newly elected student leaders with their responsibilities. The ceremony served as a reminder that true leadership is founded on service, integrity, responsibility and teamwork. The newly inducted council members were encouraged to uphold the values of Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing and work towards creating a vibrant, inclusive and progressive student community.
