A Medical Screening Camp was successfully conducted at Canara School, PVS Kodialbail, Mangalore, Karnataka, on 21 July 2026 (Tuesday) with the objective of promoting the early identification of speech, language, and hearing disorders among school children through comprehensive health screening.
The camp was organized by a multidisciplinary team comprising specialists from the Departments of Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Speech & Hearing, ensuring holistic healthcare services for the students.
A total of 320 students participated in the camp and benefited from the various medical screening services provided. The Department of Speech & Hearing screened all 320 students, offering comprehensive speech and hearing assessments.

Students who did not pass the hearing and/or speech screening were issued camp referral cards and were counselled to undergo detailed diagnostic evaluation at Father Muller Medical College Hospital. They were also informed that the required diagnostic services would be provided at concessional rates.
The Medical Screening Camp was completed successfully and served as an important initiative in promoting early detection, timely referral, and appropriate intervention for speech, language, and hearing disorders among school children. The camp also reinforced the institution's commitment to community outreach and preventive healthcare services.
