A Medical Screening Camp was successfully conducted at Canara School, PVS Kodialbail, Mangalore, Karnataka, on 22 July 2026 (Wednesday) with the objective of promoting early identification and timely intervention for school children through comprehensive health screening.
The camp was organized by a multidisciplinary team comprising healthcare professionals from the Departments of Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Speech & Hearing.
A total of 322 students participated in the camp and underwent various health screening services. The Department of Speech & Hearing screened all 322 students, providing comprehensive speech and hearing evaluations.

Students who did not pass the hearing and/or speech screening were issued camp referral cards and their parents/guardians were advised to bring them to Father Muller Medical College Hospital for detailed diagnostic evaluation. They were also informed that the required diagnostic services would be provided at concessional rates.
The camp was completed successfully and served as an important initiative in the early detection of speech, language, and hearing disorders, thereby facilitating timely referral, diagnosis, and appropriate intervention for the students.
