A talk on “Hearing Aid Innovation through Cognitive Science” was organized for the 3rd Year Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.ASLP) students and 1st Year M.Sc. Audiology & M.Sc. Speech Language Pathology students on 18th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted by Aanvii Hearing Solutions in association with the Father Muller Alumni Association and the Department of Speech and Hearing, Father Muller College.
The resource person, Mr N. Mohana Rangan, Head Audiologist & Trainer, Aanvii Hearing Solutions, delivered an insightful and inspiring session on recent innovations in hearing aid technology with a special emphasis on the role of cognitive science in enhancing hearing aid performance. The talk provided students with a new perspective on hearing aid advancements and offered valuable insights into professional practices and placement opportunities in the field of audiology.
A total of 53 students benefited from this placement programme. The session was highly interactive, giving students the opportunity to learn practical aspects of hearing aid technology and its real-world applications.
Dr Prashasti P. Poovaiah, Professor & In-Charge of Audiology, delivered the vote of thanks to the resource person. Mr Wilton Merwyn Fernandes, Audiologist and Placement Officer, Father Muller College (Speech and Hearing), was also present for the session.
Overall, the placement programme was informative, engaging, and greatly beneficial to the students, enhancing their understanding of hearing aid innovation and its applications in clinical practice.
