CANCER SCREENING AND AWARENESS CAMP – MAI DE DEUS CHURCH, PUTTUR

A one-day cancer screening and awareness camp was organized at MAI DE DEUS CHURCH, PUTTUR, on Sunday 01-12-2024 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Christian Life Community (C.L.C) Puttur, Arogya Yoga Mai De Deus Church, in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital and the Indian Cancer Society, jointly arranged a cancer screening and awareness camp.

Our camp team comprised doctors from departments of General Surgery, OBG, Surgical Oncology, and Speech & Hearing along with hospital laboratory and nursing personnel.

A total of 200 people attended the camp to avail use of the many services available. A total of 10 people benefited from speech and hearing services (7 audiology patients and 3voice patients). Speech and hearing professionals in attendance were Mr. Pancham Ponnana(Assistant Professor) and Ms. Frannie Lamita Fernandes (Speech-language pathologist Grade I). Each patient received a case history, otoscopic assessment, and screening audiometry. Those who did not pass the hearing screening or required a detailed voice evaluation received referrals via a camp referral card and were counseled to administer diagnostic testing at Father Muller Medical Hospital at concessional rates.
